Robison Inc. is currently looking to hire Subcontractor Crews for this year (2022) for the following type of work:

  • Siding

  • Gutters

  • General Construction (soffit, fascia, metal trim, etc.)

  • Roofing

Each subcontractor company must fill out an application form, a Federal W-9 form, and provide proof of insurance. Insurance coverage should include Liability, Auto, and Workers’ Comp. Each job site must have a foreman who speaks English and has a valid driver’s license.

Job Responsibilities:

Read and understand building plans/blueprints and build according to foreman’s and client’s specifications
Complete building projects timely and efficiently as well as maintain a clean worksite
Provide good customer service
Work well with other crew members and employees and have ability to follow directions

Job Requirements:

High school diploma (GED Equivalent) or higher
Valid driver’s license
2 to 3 years’ framing/building experience
Ability to work 20-30 feet above ground and work in all types of weather
Has experience in operating various hand tools and construction equipment
Ability to perform various physical duties such as digging, lifting, installing trusses, climbing ladders, cleaning of worksite
Willingness to work flexible hours — some weekends and some paid travel
Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Construction Sales/Estimator

This position requires excellent sales and estimating skills. You will be responsible for estimating and submitting proposals for our building products. This will require blueprint interpretation, scope take-offs, estimating, and preparation of the proposal. Following the sale, you will continue your relationship with the customer in providing all submittals and change orders for changes in scope. After the sale, you will team with project managers and crew foremen to see the project through to completion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Roofing Project Manager/Estimator

Robison, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is a well-established, growing construction company, in need of a Roofing Project Manager/Estimator with a strong attention to detail who can work independently, multi-task, and has great customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

Accurately calculate estimates and bids for customers

 

Reviewing of job specs and blueprints to ensure proper project estimates
Ensure all jobs are scheduled properly and deadlines are met
Schedule deliveries of job materials
Customer/job follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
Supervision of subcontractors
Coordination with Owner Accountant regarding profit margins customer service goals.
Controlling prioritizing multiple activities while handling multiple projects.

Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of all roofing construction, repair estimation
Knowledge of multiple multi-family dwelling roofing, siding, and other exterior construction
Effective communication skills; Microsoft Office knowledge; Adobe PDF skills
Self-starter with ability to work independently
Planning and goal setting skill set a must
Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
Professional appearance work ethic
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Driver’s license

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, preferred; college/trade degree a plus

Required Experience:

Roofing knowledge experience: 4 years
Estimating knowledge experience: 4 years
General construction knowledge experience: 1-2 years preferred

Carpenters

We are searching for experienced, motivated carpenters and framers for various project types. Robison is looking for employees who are able to work efficiently and quickly without sacrificing quality. It is also important to be self-motivated, able to work effectively as a part of a team, and communicate clearly with customers and co-workers. Applicants need to have 1-2 years’ experience with siding, soffit, fascia, roofing, aluminum trim, and framing. This position requires the ability to lift materials (up to 50 pounds), carrying, climbing, kneeling, balancing, and other physically demanding tasks.
